Position Title:    Finance Officer

Location:            [Kirkuk, Iraq]
Duration:           [ Two months, with the possibility of extension]
Reports to:         Finance Manager



 

 

About Kurdistan Organization for Human Rights Watch:

Kurdistan Organization for Human Rights Watch (KOHRW) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization that was established in 1989 as a national NGO. KOHRW has contributed to humanitarian services and different development programs in the Kurdistan region and Iraq. KOHRW specializes in six areas of expertise: Human Rights, Protection, Shelter& WASH, Livelihood, Social Cohesion, and Education.

 


Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage the financial activities of the project, ensuring compliance with the donor's financial regulations.
    • Prepare, monitor, and update the project budget, ensuring accurate financial forecasting and reporting.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions, including payroll, grants, and procurement expenses.
    • Prepare monthly financial reports, including cash flow statements, expenditure reports, and budget variance analysis.
    • Ensure timely processing of payments for goods and services and manage petty cash disbursements.
    • Coordinate financial audits and support the preparation of audit materials.
    • Work closely with the Project Manager to ensure financial transparency and accountability.
    • Ensure that all financial activities comply with KOHRW’s financial policies and procedures.
    • Support in the preparation of donor reports and respond to any donor queries regarding the project’s financial management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in financial management, preferably within an NGO or international organization.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial management systems.
  • Proven experience in preparing financial reports, managing budgets, and working with donor funding.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in English, Arabic, and Kurdish.
